Pack Goat Trip Details

FOOD

You will be eating really good “real food,” like steak and eggs and pizza that we cook right on the fire. You won’t believe how good food tastes at elevation…yum!!! We love to bring your favorites, so we customize the menu to what you want the best we can.

AT CAMP

You’ll be camping in a nice tent and have all the amenities. Camp in comfort with chairs, cots and boats to fish from in the high lakes. The water and air are crystal clear and the weather is warm and welcoming. We have the option to set up a substantial camp. You can stay there for a few days mixing in some day hikes or have a “moving to a new area” every day type trip.

We are also expert fly fisherman and the high lake fishing can be unbelievable. We will have the equipment and all you need to learn.

ON THE TRAIL

It is common to see, elk, deer and mountain goats on these trips so bring your binoculars and favorite fly rod and we will get you into the game. Either way you will see country that will blow your mind! The best part is the ability to do it all without a heavy pack on your back. Accessing the back country doesn’t require a high level of fitness. However, you will be walking trails, and you’ll need to be able to climb and walk a few miles.

ADVENTURES

We typically camp out on high mountain lakes which are awesome for a mid-day plunge or catch and release fishing. We bring pack rafts that allow you to float out to the middle. Day hikes are a great additional option to explore other lakes or abundant mountain peaks. Don’t forget your camera because the mountain photography is second to none. If you go on a trip in the early summer when there is still some snow on the mountains, we can glissade down for a thrilling adventure. Last but not least, wild life viewing and star gazing are some fan favorites.

Packages

Packages can be very custom and usually are based on who’s going, how many, how fit, and your stomach for adventure. We can cover 40 miles in a 4 day period and go light and fast or we can settle in to one lake and make the entry easy and slow and doable for almost anyone old or young.

Basic packages and break down are as follows

3 day, 3 night trip Which means walking in on a Monday for example, staying that night, staying Tuesday and Wednesday and heading out Thursday morning. This sounds a little short but for most this is perfect if we are going to camp in one spot and settle in. This trip base price is $3500 for up to two and then 250 per additional person from there. Max of 6.

4 day 4 night is adding one more day to this scenario and often goes best with a camp move or mobile strategy. More work, but really neat for the “adventurous.” This base price is $4800 and add 250 for every person beyond 2. Max of 6 as well.

These packages are a baseline to go from but we can customize packages to meet your needs.

We will have everything! All you need is a day pack for water and a jacket and personal stuff and a sleeping bag.
