Running Pack Goats In-Person Event in Boise, Idaho

RESERVATIONS ARE OPEN FOR OUR 2025 EVENT

Join us at Ripple Ranch for a weekend full of learning how to “Pack Goat!”

May 3-4, 2025

The ranch is located 20 minutes from Downtown Boise, Idaho and 20 minutes from the Boise Airport making your arrival easy.

List of Events and times

Friday:

• 5pm until dark. Arrival for participants staying at the ranch. Set up camp and get comfortable.

Saturday:

• 9-9:45am What to look for in a Baby, Doe or Adult Packer – Conformation
• 9:45-10:30am How to best raise a baby to become a packer
• 10:30-11:15am Optimal Pasture set up for packers
• 11:15-12pm How to handle “Vet” issues
• 12-1 pm Break/Lunch
• 1-1:45pm How to build your string for strength and longevity
• 1:45-2:30pm Pack Goat Nutrition (Cradle to Grave)
• 2:30-3:15pm Necessary Training
• 3:15-3:30pm Break
• 3:30-4:15pm Trip Planning for both Backpacking & Hunting
• 4:15-5pm Setting Camps
• 6pm Pot-luck Dinner
• 8pm Bonfire

Sunday:

• 8-9am Pot-luck Breakfast
• 9-9:45am Building Loads & Fitting Saddles
• 9:45-10:30am Deep Dive into Gear for both Goats & People
• 10:30-11am Break/Snack before hike
• 11-2pm Actual Loading of Goats & Goat Hike (2-3 hours)
• *Bring your lunch or snacks with you for the hike.
• 2pm Back at the Ranch. View a Complete Camp Set-Up.
• After event- Departure, break-down camp.

$600 per person or $750 for family 10% discount to Goat Club Members & those who purchased baby goats. In case of cancellation one 50% of the cost will be refunded.  Upon purchase, check out the new PayPal pay later button for payment options.

Potluck style dinner on Saturday and Potluck style breakfast on Sunday.

Attendees are welcome to Tent Camp on the Ranch ($20 per Night) or Stay in a Hotel.

There will be a Porta Potty available and Stream Water near Your Camp

Options for camping nights can be chosen at check-out.  Just pick however many nights (1 or 2) you need.  $20/night
