Wethers, Bucks and Does
Wethers
Wethers are castrated male goats. They are the best for packing because they are strong and docile. Their temperament is awesome, they are like golden retrievers with horns.
Bucks
Bucks are non castrated male goats and they are not recommend because of their wilder temperament and aggression. Another reason bucks are not ideal is because when they are in rut; they are stinky, filthy and crazy.
Does
Does are female goats and they are great to have in the back country. They can’t carry as much weight as wethers, but their temperament is just the same. If you have a doe in milk you can have fresh milk in the back country.
