Lead Training

  1. Tie your goat up to a fixed object. Let them get used to being on a lead. At first a goat will restlessly try to get away, but after a while they learn they can’t go any where. This is important for being in camp. Whether you are using the high line or low line, your goats will be tied up.
  2. Walking. Lead your goat, don’t let your goat lead you. You should get to a point where you aren’t dragging your goat and/or your goat isn’t dragging you. They will begin to follow willingly.
  3. Stopping. Your goat should stop when you stop, much like being tied to that fixed object.
  4. Turning. Turn a goat by the head and neck.

Now, get out there and spend sometime practicing!
