For example, goats are raised in the United States without hormones which are naturally lean, very nutritious, and have a range of health benefits. How Does Goat Meat Taste

How does goat meat taste? There are many homesteaders and farmers that are raising goats primarily for meat. It is not as common here in the United States as it is in Mexico, North Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, and other tropical regions. Cabrito, a tender mild flavor delicacy meat from goat kids slaughtered when 1 to 3 months of age and weighing less than 50 pounds. Whereas chevon is meat from older goat kids slaughtered when 6 to 9 months of age and weighing from 50 to 75 pounds.

There are, however, two types of red meat that are usually cut in bite-size or larger pieces to be eaten stewed, baked, or grilled. By comparison, the meat from mature goats is used primarily in processed foods such as sausage or chili.

How to Cook Goat Meat

How to cook goat meat determines how delicious it tastes. For example, if goat meat is to become popular in U.S. markets, consumers need to learn a few basic rules regarding how to cook the goat meat. Firstly, cook meat at low temperatures. Due to its low-fat content and lack of marbling of the fat inside the muscle, goat meat can lose moisture and become tough quickly if cooked at high temperatures. Secondly, cook goat meat with steam. To enhance flavor and increase tenderness, use a marinade on the meat before cooking and cook with steam heat, such as stewing. Finally, and most importantly, let’s try this Goat Meat Campfire Stew.
